In 2008, Big Bend National Park was one of the largest parks in the National Park System that did not have an orientation film. It was one of the top-requested visitor amenities that the Park did not provide. Big Bend National Park has two entrance stations, two permanent visitors centers and three seasonal visitors centers to service over 800,000 very remote acres. There are very few opportunities to provide families with a sense of the wonders the Park provides as well as the safety pointers they should follow. This film provides visitors with a direct message from the Park about their visit.
Big Bend National Park was a gift to the nation from the people of Texas, and it is our job to maintain this legacy by helping the Park provide top quality visitor services. The award-winning film is the gateway to learning for all who come to visit this Park, and is a foundation for teaching visitors about the importance of protecting our public lands.
